Tokyo, Japan on a shoestring budget July 2012

We embarked on the journey to Tokyo with a tight budget of less than RM7k. To be exact, we spent RM6600 including airfares for a 7days trip.  A family of 2 adults and 2 children. Air Asia promotion airfares is RM510 return per person, with no check in luggage.
Children were briefed on the budget, the choices of food, affordable itineraries which means Tokyo Disneyland is out, etc etc.
