Aman Dusun Hulu Langat 13 December 2016

We love this home. It is our second family gathering here. Ris, the owner provided us with great hospitality  which made us feel very much at home.  The stay came with free delicious breakfast. We also observed the goat milking process early in the morning

Older dd  loves to arrange shoes in orderly.

The living room and a kitchen behind the brown wall, where we baked and prepared soup for steamboat. Barbeque  pit and charcoal are being provided  too.

The pool that we spent most of our time. It is conveniently located within the house and facing the serene garden.

The corn puff that dd taught the younger ones to make.

A Visit to Kebun Kaki, Batang Berjuntai 19 June 2015

A HS mom invited us to Kebun Kaki farm, to help build mud house.

The unfinish beautiful mud house.

The building of the mud house has reached the height taller than us. Hui needed to climb on a climbing frame to add the "Burrito"

The "Burrito", so they call, is a mixture of 50% mud, 50% sand and some straw.

En got some mud and pinched it into something.

Muddy feet from stamping onto the mixture of the "Burrito",

Chatting by the mud pond.

Rainforest Retreat Templer Park Selangor 23 May 2015

Rainforest Retreat newly built swimming pool.

Pillow fight !!

It was another overnight trip I planned along with kids, for them and their homeschooling friends. It is always rewarding seeing them having great time with some friends on a trip. It reminded me of  my "rombongan sekolah" (schoop trip) during the secondary school. The difference is, all the parents tagged along a homeschool trip ! :)

Day 3 at Grace Farm, Serendah Selangor 28 October 2012

The last day was good, lots more time to chill and relax.

Upon request, we were brought to re visit the animals.

My young kid asked to stay longer at the farm. On the contrary, I kind of miss city life .

I manage to sneak into the dorm and read.
As I stepped out, I saw my child running toward the guard house, shouting "Treasure hunt mom". There was a treasure hunt game that made the kids ran all over the farm.

I went back to my dorm and read. Bliss.

Day 2 at Grace Farm, Serendah Selangor 27 October 2012

Day 2 began early at 645am for shrimp harvesting.
The normal routine of shrimp harvesting starts at 2am and ends at 7am. This is because as the sun rise, the shrimps will be wallowing in the mud at the bottom of the pond.

A net and a food cover are needed.

Hold the net and wade along the pond.

Transfer the catch from net to the food over.

The fishes will be discarded so that they wont compete for food with the shrimps.

Dear hubby went for few more rounds to catch shrimps.

Passing a shrimp to my younger kid who waited eagerly by the pond.

Using bamboo shooting and slingshot.

Jungle trekking through mosquito and ants infested rubber tree plantation.

Over here, we were told to wade through the muddy river.

Shortly after, we were told to turn back as the water level is too high for the children.

Water snail red eggs pouch.

We crossed the bridge and came to a vegetable farm.

Scarecrow!

Vegetable patch.

Tired little feets.

Rowing boats at fish pond.

We also got to ride on the barrel-type boats and banana trunk- raft.

This is the dining hall.
We were shown some species of bird, iguana, and animal below.

Day 1 at Grace Farm, Serendah, Selangor 26 October 2012

We had a short escape from the hustle and bustle of city life at Grace Farm. The location of the farm is not too far which is another plus point.

Kris, the person is charge is humble and calmly caters to every whims of the children and adults alike.  We are grateful to have him and his team with us.

We slept in dormitory-type of accommodation with two attached cold showers and one toilet. There are also common shower and toilet available outside the dorm. We are comfortable with the facilities.

We paid RM160 per person which includes meal (2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 2 dinners), dorm and activities.

Feeding the cow.

Milking the goat.

She is very much a nature girl whom I admire a great deal.

Come on goat, come one, let's go back to the pen.

Mother hen being patted.

Covering the ostrich eyes made my kid mad and sad, let alone sitting on it.

Tapping the rubber tree.

Ploughing and raking the soil.

The way to the vegetable farm.

Trying a hand on harvesting the vegetables.

The shrimp pond, some ducks and a German Shepherd which the kids fell in love with.

Fish pond.

Debra, Kris's wife led a game for our group after our dinner.
