CR8, NXT Lego Creative Robotic Learning Centre 3 August 2012

Introduction to the robot which the kids are going to assemble. When I sat in during the trial lesson, I found the video pretty informative and impressive.  

My little kid, who love assembling Lego, sat in through the trial class for two long hours. Today she came back for the second workshop. 

The white boxes contained various shapes of Lego pieces.

Each lesson covers different type of robot.

At the end of the workshop, there will be sticker award for creativity, excellence and mission accomplishment.

Lego Nxt Robotic Workshop at Pusat Sains Negara 10 January 2012

Lego Nxt workshop is held at Innotech Room, located inside the Thinking Machine exhibits hall, second floor.

To initiate a workshop, get a group of 20 children, aged 10 and above.

The children enjoyed themselves so much, setting instruction and see how the robot moved accordingly. 

The microprocessor which we used to communicate with the robot.

Simple installation which I think suited younger kids, less than 10 years old.

Older ones might find the workshop too easy and boring.

Fun With Ollo at Pusat Sains Negara 22 November 2011

Ollo workshop at Pusat Sains Negara, during the robotics festival.

The Ollo set is provided. 

The tiny bits made it tough to assemble even for an adult. 

Painful marked fingers resulted from screwing. :)

Robot Zoo @Omnitheatre Singapore 16 January 2011

Robot Zoo exhibits will end on Mar 2011.

It uses biomechanics of giant robot animals to simulate how real animals work. There are cutaway sections of the animal robots where you can see the machine parts and gadgets. It displays six larger-than-life-animals - bat, chameleon, giraffe, grasshoper, platypus and rhino.

bat robot which has a loudspeaker on its head which emits sound waves while a higly sensitive receptor pick up returning echoes to locate the object which is similar to how bat hunt for food in the complete darkness using their own sonar system.

En spent the longest time with the giraffe, saying it could see and communicate with her. !!!!
