Chinese New Year Show on Ice 28 February 2015

This would be their third performance with the rink. They love being on ice for performance.

"Shoot the Duck" , a basic level 5 's element is her favourite. 

"Pull Up" is not an element of any level. But an additional move for dance program. 

En learnt many moves by observing and practising on her own.

It was their second performance on ice. 

Hui was excited being the lead of the small kids group.

En joined the teenager group.  

She experienced how some older ones did not like to communicate with younger children. It became the topic of discussion and I am thankful for the opportunity. 

Easter On Ice Performance at Royale Ice Rink, Royale Chulan Hotel 19 April 2014

It is their first performance on ice. Both were in the little bees costumes.

I helped their coach exchanged some costumes at a costume shop. And I brought the kids along.  They like costumes and often make costumes with bit and pieces of things. The variety of costumes at the shop was an eye-opener for them. 

Piano Recital 28 April 2013

5 + years old Hui was so confident introducing herself on the stage. After the recital, she told me she forgot to add "Hope you will enjoy the music"

My older one cracked the audiences up, for the opening lines which was not the usual " I am so and so and age ". I was suprised when I heard her said " I am so glad to see you all.........."

It was really heart warming knowing them being comfortable in front a group of strangers. Yes, they are homeschool and no, they are not social misfit.  

Street Performance at Phyllis Caring Home and Agathians Shelter 24 & 28 April 2013

Previously, when I visited Phyllis Caring Home, I wish I could bring some performances to this home.  

And I so glad the wish came true. :)

I hope the old folks enjoyed the show.

Anne Musikschule 's concert 18 December 2010

Saturday afternoon.

From rehearsal..

to concert and followed by Winter Solstice dinner, En was pooped and knocked out the moment she went to bed. She only had two rehearsals with the children from the movement class. The competence of the children didn't bother her at all. En was seen happily dancing, following their steps with no worries.

En's wayang kulit @Enfafrow A+ My Amazing Child Grand Finale' 14 October 2010

Thursday 9am
It all started when aunt Ling uploaded a video of En's puppetry show at home to 'Enfagrow A+ My Amazing child' contest. I didn't pay much attention to it, till she got into the finalist stage (based on voting)
When I told En, she will have a chance of winning a grand price of RM8k travel voucher. Beaming with joy,  she exclaimed " I can see snow" (Seeing snow is one of her dream).

A million thanks to aunt Ling and aunty Luisa for arranging and accomodating En's request in her preparation for the wayang kulit performance. En being the choreographer, director and creator of her version of wayang kulit.

She chose 'ao yai' (thanks to uncle fai & aunty m ling) as her costume which I think was a great choice. Here she was passionately setting up her theatre and I was her assistant. Left - a video recorder in front of theatre.

Left - The 1st prize winner - 4 year old Kah Hee, reciting 'San Ji Jing' with gutso. Right- 2nd prize winner - talented 5 year old Yi Fan, playing two tunes on the electronic keyboard. One of it, a famous classical piece, from ear memory!  

The emcee introduced En and her winning puppetry video was shown on TV.

"It's a performance by a 6 year old using shadow to tell an impromptu story which will be created at the time of its performance. The puppets and props are mostly homemade and using easy to find material at home, partly inspired by En" 

En's wayang kulit was being shot by a videographer live from a dark room, near the stage.

She won the third prize and was jumping excitedly on the stage when her name was being announced.  :)

" En developed a great interest in the art of puppetry. Couple with an active imagination, what started off as paper cuttings, slowly evolved to hand puppet theater show, and finally, migrated to wayang kulit today. She have a hand in creating and influencing the characters and the puppets that are used in the wayang kulit. Because of her passion on this art, most, if not all, of the activities here are of her own motivation and direction "

The grand finale winners launched Enfagrow A+ Smart Camp, with the mascot, owl and Mr Roger Dallas.

En said " I am glad I came."

I thought the whole event was a wonderful experience for her. Thanks to aunt Ling. 

Piano Recital @Ampac 4 October 2009

Sunday 2pm.
Zhang En played keyboard with a group of children at Anne Musikschule Performing Art Centre. This was her first time performing at Ampac. She loves to perform onstage and was looking forward to it.

En looked serious, finding keys! She couldn't remember the whole tune but brave enough to be on stage.

A beautiful piece with superb effort from the children.

KL Performing Art Centre 17 August 08

En joined a children theatre programme at KL Performing Art Centre on 23 March 2008. It's a 2- semester program for children 3-6 years old that consists of theatre based activities and games. It ended with a presentation on the last day.

Shichida Method Talent Show 11 March 2007

I asked En if she was okay to sing a song at a Talent Show. She replied "YES". And I asked "Which song would you like to sing?". She said "Incy Wincy Spider". So I registered her name, with great awe.

On that day, she sat among the participants without any fuss.When she heard her name being called, she walked towards the center boldly, got the microphone and said "Ng Zhang En" when sensei asked about her name. She sang the incy wincy spider and use the other free hand to show spider moving up and down. I was deeply astonished by her confidence and courage!

En took the microphone from sensei Ivy.

While waiting for the result, sensei invited children to come forward and sing. I asked En "Would you like to help out?". En walked to the front, got the microphone and sang a japanese sayonara song! Cool!

En was the winner for the 3 year old category!

Anne Musikschule X'mas Concert 20 December 2009

Sunday 2pm.
En participated in Anne Musikschule Concert at Atria, Damansara Jaya. She was truly excited about it and gets high on performing onstage.

 En was seen taking joy in the dance, chuckle and chortle all the way

 

En played Jingle Bell tunes on keyboard.
