Mini Escape, SS2 Mall 13 January 2014

Escape Penang installed a "Mini Escape" at SS2 Mall temporarily. Kids had a go and enjoyed themselves tremendiously. The challenges were easy for both of them.
They like to visit this park in Penang some day.

Sports Day Set Up 28 May 2012

I hesitated in joining this "Sports Day" when a mother invited us. I recognized the importance of physical activities. Nevertheless, I dislike sports that encourage competition among the participants. However, I asked my children's opinion and they were all roaring to go.

This event was organised by a group of mothers, some home-schooled and some are not. I told the children, this is a team work event and everyone must chipped in to do something.

This banner was creatively done by a mother, who was also a party planner by profession. She did most of the planning and shared all her equipments! The kids were told of the mother's selfless contribution.

The idea I like most was, the children were given a chance to be little entrepreneur where they could set up stalls and sell their product.
We sold our crafts (headband, wristband, anklet and brooches) which we made some time. The children took this opportunity to try their hand on selling them.
The design ideas were from the kids and me whereas the matching of felts were all done by my 5 year old. The elder one would pick the type of accessory and glued it with a glue gun. I helped with the tricky part of sewing.

Crafty Craffy stall, a name thought up by En.

The medal designed were selected by one of the mother and we shared the cost.

The event began with a pom-pom workout that my children chose to skip. Sand art was more interesting.

I thought if I don't wish to pick up the pom-pom and follow the dance step, why can't my kid?

5 year old individual spoon and egg race.

5 year old team race.

Older children individual race.

Older children team clog race.

The kids joined the three legged race with enthusiasm. Having seen this type of sport in the book for few times, they finally got to try on it.

This photo somehow calm grandma a lot. I am glad.

I have been feeling sorry for I know grandma who is illiterate, thinks the only way to make a living and get out of poverty, is by going to school to learn to read and write. She worries about her grandchildren, being not able to read and write. It doesn't help no matter how much I convince her, that learning doesn't happen in school only.
Seeing the medal, brought a smile on her wrinkled face. It somehow reassured grandma, the grandchildren is doing just fine.

Stretchy Ligaments 3 July 2011

En stretched her ligaments.

We just read that some people can bend and twist their bodies because their ligaments are extra long and stretchy.

Wednesday 730am
EnHui & I arrived at 730am, and we were queuing at the fourth row. Out of curiousity, I asked the first one in line what time he arrived.  With blurry eyes, he uttered "330am".
Skybridge counter and entrance is located a floor below Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra.

The queue numbers were issued at about 815am. Ticket counter opens at 830am. I bought my tickets at 910am.

RM3 per ticket for MyKad holder aged 4 and above. Toddler, aged 3 and below is free but a ticket will be issued as well.
One person 12 years and above, is entitle to buy 5 tickets
I bought 25 tickets + 5 toddler tickets and came with 4 other friends.
We got tickets for 1pm slot, which is the earliest time available.

Morning session was spent at the huge KLCC playground.

You need to arrive at least 10minutes before your allocated time slot.

A 7 minutes video will be shown. Time to snooze for me.

X-ray.
Backpack and stroller have to be stowed at the locker.

15minutes at skybridge.
It was excellent, seeing our group of kids running around and rolling on the ground happily.

Broga Hill 20 February 2011

Sunday 545am
This is the fourth time En Hui hike this hill. En is getting familiar with the terrain and ran up alone. I was out of breath trying to catch up with her.

430am drive to Broga Hill.

The breathtaking scenery at 630am.

It was a cloudy morning and we could only get glimpse of red in the sky. The wind was cooling and sky was blue.

Elephant grass, their favourite pick at the peak.

View from second peak to first peak. My lung was only able to take me to the second peak. En went all the way up the fourth peak for the second time.

Can you spot En climbing down from the fourth peak?

Sendudok

the ants feasting on the sendudok flower.

oooohhh how I wish I could join this camper - having nasi and hot beverage.

string tied to the trunk and lalang.

This was what uncle V, Rhy and dad did at the peak.

Shooting 'lalang'.

This is the En's best part. She looks forward to it, each time we were there. Yooohoooo sliding down the slope.

Pasir Ris Park, Singapore 16 January 2011

Sunday 5pm
The kids never get enough of Pasir Ris Park. It's just a stone's throw away from Aunty PL 's home, oohh  how nice.

Such great park in Singapore and there are many more parks like this.

Picnic by the grass

or by the sea.

Left - lots of majestic rain trees with birdnest ferns on them. Run En Run!!
Right -many signages with the message "Fight Myopia. Encourage your kids to spend more time outdoor and less time watching TV and playing computer and hand-held games"

I shall check the camping site one fine day. En has been asking me to camp again.
The public barbeque area is sparkling clean !!!!!

Beach! and there are clean toilets and bathroom nearby, with no charge.

Playground!! So many equipments of different challenges.

En on a long slide! and on the right - Hui rock-climbed up and slide down again and again. Some kids slide down on the smooth green surface. So FUN to be kids !

Left- En & Yi - looking at them, reminded me of Yi's mom and I, at a school playground when we were 7 .
Right - check out the rope climbing equipment.

Left - Hui on the flying fox. There are only two around and a kid can only play for a short time before passing it the next kid in line.
Right- Younger children play area.

Left - run and spin the dish. Right- more rock climbing.

Suspension bridge under maintenace. The upkeep of the equipment is excellent.
And you know what, there are still more equipments beside those you have just seen !!!!

Spin me, SPIN !! We LOVE this park.
