Titi Eco Farm, Titi, Jelebu Negeri Sembilan 30 August 2014

We love it here, Titi Eco Farm.This chalet type has serene mountainous view. 

Here, I can really rest and recharge. I don't have to think of food for the family. When the bell rings, it signal that the food is ready. I can just wake up from my nap or drop my book to eat.   

The children roam around the spacious farm freely.

I learnt many more ways to eat well and heal naturally from the farm tour and a health talk given by

the humble farm owner.

I was given this baby Aloe Vera to plant at home. It now grows happily in my garden 

It is our first time eating a hibiscus !  And  I leanrt to include flower into our diet.

 Eat all sort of colour and taste. Different colour is good for different part of our organ.

I was also taught to grow yeast to make bread. The bread is cooked by steaming, instead of baking in the oven.

My kids fed the rabbits with vegetables harvested by them.

We passed by the museum while driving to Titi.

This one caught my eye the most. Perhaps it is something new to me. There is so much that I don't know. 

The museum is quiet. It showcase the custom and culture of  Malaysia. There isn't any entrance fees needed. 

Titi town, Jelebu, Negeri Sembilan 30 August 2014

We made a stop at Titi town before driving into Titi Eco farm, Jelebu where we stayed the night. The Minangkabau style roof of the bus stands along the road was a lovely sight. 

There are also some street art mural at this town.

For lunch, we tried some Hakka food.  

Kids like these two especially, the very unique taste of "Chee Cheong Fun" (rice roll) and "O ku kueh" (black tortoise cake). 

Volunteering at Raptor Watch 2014, Ilham Resort Port Dickson 8 March 2014

It was our second year of volunteering at "Green Living" SIG booth. Thanks EL for the invitation. Kids have been anxiously waiting for that day to come. En was especially excited. This year, the children made one game each for the booth.

Hui made the "Hit and Win". The player needs to hit the building with ping pong ball and avoid the trees. 

  

En made the "Spin and Win". The player spins the flower pinwheel that has number on each petal. Each number paired up with a message that was displayed on a piece of yellow paper. To win, the player needs to get the message that is good for the environment. 

EL approved the games and there were displayed on the booth. 

The children explained and served the visitors bravely. 

The only problem they faced is BM ( Malay language). This provides another purpose to learn the language and improve. 

EL taught them how to play "congkak". Thereafter, they were hooked and love  the game.

I found Hui here, playing limbo rock with a group of teenagers.  Very funny looking with an oversized shirt. 

Volunteering at Raptor Watch 2013, Ilham Resort Port Dickson 9 March 2013

Here is En observing EL talking to kids passionately about "Green Living." 

My children were invited to volunteer at Malaysian Nature Society Raptor Watch event. I am so thankful of this opportunity and trust given by EL to them. (EL, thank you very much.) This is the first time in my homeschool journey that I was not questioned on how homeschool can work out and if my homeschool children are weird. EL thinks highly of them and even more highly than I do.  

The children mixed well with other volunteers. They are more outgoing and braver than me. 

Hui spent first half of  the Saturday at Art and Craft booth and spent almost all my pocket money there. :)

EL didn't seem to mind this young volunteer being distracted and away from the booth she volunteered in. 

I kept silent and let her go with the flow.  

After lunch, Hui finally remember she was here to help and went to the table and helped.

Again, Hui was distracted by the "limbo rock" game going on and on in front of our booth.  

She loves it so much. 

This is living room where we all bunk in at Casa Rachado. We shared the apartment with two other families. We have a nice view of the sea and a very clean beach.

Usually, this gate was shut tight during the past visits to the light house. We often peeped in and watched the MNS volunteers at work during the Raptor Watch months.

Today, we got permission to step in from the Marine Department. 

We were also given the green light to drive our car up and parked at the area where the red and blue roof is.  

The compound is well kept with a cozy living room, I called it. 

What attracted me in that room was the small poster of the birds and the location of all the lighthouses in Peninsular Malaysia (below). I have no idea there are so many lighthouses at all. 

The curator briefed us in Bahasa Malaysia. I can't remember why I didn't pay any attention at all.

At first, we were not allowed to go up here. After some negotiation with the curator, adults and older children were allowed to climb up. 

I was up there on the left tower, outside the glass panel, walking around it. The height got my knee wobbly but I was so happy to be there. The sea view was wonderful. 

While I was looking down, I saw my little kid cried. Then I remember being so excited to climb up the tower that I have forgotten to tell her. Finding me up high sent tears down her cheek.

Yakult Factory Tour, Seremban 13 August 2011

It started off with an educational video on the importance of good bacteria. The story is nicely presented in a cartoon format which inevitably attracted the little children's attention. 

In the beginning, I was a bit skeptical about the contents of the factory tour, after having experienced on how brief a factory tour can be.  To my suprise, we were able to view the entire process of Yakult! I must say, it is the best factory visit ever. Two thumbs up for Yakult!
