Tanabata is also called 'The Star Festival". According to an old legend, the king of heavens separated his daughter from her husband because their love kept them from their duties!!
Both can only meet once a year on the eve of July 7th.
People write poems and wishes on Tanzaku, colourful strips of paper and hang it on the bamboo tree.
Tanzaku and pens are provided.
