"Freedom to live and to think about life for its own sake is important and even essential to a child. Since we can't know what knowledge will be most needed in the future, it is senseless to try to teach it in advance. Instead, we should try to turn out people who love learning so much and learn so well that they will be able to learn whatever needs to be learned." -John Holt.

Kid hiked Bukit Tabur 18 November 2012
My 8 yo at the peak of Bukit Tabur, savoring her breakfast.
She commented "It is easy and I like the rocky part, the most"
Good heavens, your kids are superheroes! They didn't find it difficult at all? I think going down is a lot harder than climbing up, because all the loose stones and pebbles start rolling off and making us lose our balance.
