Unschooling Taiping & Kuala Sepetang Road Trip - cont 5 May 2010

Wednesday 2pm.
Our first destination was Perak Musuem, Malaysia's first musuem @ Jalan Musuem. It's just a short 2 minutes drive from Flemington Hotel. We are the only visitors at the musuem, quiet and eerie! There are 4 viewing areas. Both entrance and parking are free. We spent more than an hour over here while EnHui asked many questions about the exhibits. :)

First viewing area shows animals and its skeletons.

Fourth viewing area which is located upstair, shows early history of stone age and orang asli.

Orang asli 's long house & 'rakit'
Process of making 'labu'
The third viewing area displays exhibits of different cultural wedding. The second viewing room is being renovated.

We stopped by Taiping War Cemetary, 2 minutes drive from Perak Musuem. En walked around the area inspecting the tombstones.

Then, we drove to the Taiping lake, Malaysia's first lake. En Hui saw the playground and they requested to stop there.

Top -the majestic rain tree ! Bottom- archaeologist at work, digging for lost treasure.

The lush greeneries calmed me and soothed my tired eyes.

Back to the hotel and they splashed in the rooftop pool.
