Terra Farm Tree House, Brinchang Cameron Highland 22 December 2013

We stayed at tree house no. 4 this time round. It is situated higher from the ground as compare to the previous, biggest tree house no.3 that we stayed.

The view from the tree house is simply stunning. We were surrounded with trees.

Two queen size beds for us. The upper bed is very close to the roof.

Collecting ashes from the fireplace.

Feeding the chickens with rice.

Making a boot scraper with tree trunk and sticks.

Pulling radishes.
We love, love, love this place.

Terra Farm Tree House, Brinchang, Cameron Highland Pahang 14 September 2013

We started with visiting Terra farm and ended up knowing a bit of how plants can grow naturally and healthily. I said, "a bit " because I am not fluent in Mandarin which was the language of choice of the owner who is passionately explaining when we were touring the farm.  It is heartwarming to know a farmer who cares so much on planting 'real' food. Terra vegetables will be part of our diet from now on.

This is the dining hall or community hall and kitchen where all the guests of the total six tree houses mingle, eat and cook. The ingredients for cooking is provided by Terra. We paid RM 100 per adult and RM 80 per kid, per night.

En suprised (maybe I should said shocked) everyone (yes, including me) by entertaining the crowd here at the dining hall. (no photo of it though) by belting up a few songs right in front.
I was awestruck by how fearless she is. And if you asked me what I did to my child, I did nothing but just being her biggest supporter and trusting her that she will bloom naturally on her own.

At 7 am sharp, she dashed out of the tree house with one of her close friend, xy  all for the sake of cooking in the kitchen, preparing breakfast.

From tree house number 6, which located at the highest point among the six tree houses, we hiked up through the cold jungle.

Do you know what this is?

Looks really nice, isn't it?

Campfire to shoo mosquito out of the tree house.

The children of Terra happily brought their kid-guests to pluck some strawberries, leading the way through the hilly farm. I am impressed by how calm and kind hearted these children are. And it struck me hard, to live even more simple and cut down unnecessarily distractions. Do what matters but not what the crowd does.

The walk way among the tree houses. This is definitely better than a 5 star hotel.

Being 9 in a group, we stayed at the biggest tree house. Other tree houses accommodate 4 to 7 people.
This is the exterior verandah.

This big tree house has two doors where both lead to two rooms. The room on the right side has a ladder that goes up to another room and there is where all the 9 of us slept.
The toilet/shower is located behind it at the side.

We utterly love love this place. Simple and refreshing.

Hawa Resort, Janda Baik 23 July 2011

We put up for a night at Hawa Resort, after visiting Bentong Animal Farm. This resort was chosen by Starfield for stargazing activity.
I found this row of chalets to be the best accomodation at Hawa, located beside the river. Unfortunately,  some of the chalets are facing the canteen and wash area which can be noisy and dirty.  "Pulai" or "Sentul" chalet has the best location.  It fits 2-3 people or a family of 4 with 2 young children.

Upclose of the chalet.

The river in front of the chalets.

Hanging bridge that lead to an obstable course.

The row of dorms which fit big group. 3 dormitories share common toilets/showers which are located behind the dorm.

Common toilets/showers.

The first three dormitories's (refer to photo above) toilets/showers area is between the dorm and  staff quarters. Do remember to bring newspaper/tape to cover the low window which can be easily peep through from the back.

Camping (yay!) @Janda Baik, Pahang 5 November 2010

Friday 1pm
Camping by the river at D 'ark Resort 09- 233 0031/0193. RM40 for a 4-man-tent. Resort Facilities charges are RM10 per adult and RM5 per kid above 4.
The environment is a total opposite from Hutan Lipur Sg Congkak. The camping area is so clean and breezy and located adjacent to D'ark Resort where we could conveniently walked in to use the toilets and washing area.

Left- camping site on a nice grassland. Right- However, the river bed is full of slippery, mossy rocks which are used for creating rapid. As a result, we have to roam carefully in the river to maintain our balance. On a brighter note, it creates a different terrain for kids to explore. Eventually, En did not need assistance crossing the river and was able to walk thru it at ease.

Left- the entrance of D'ark Resort is just opposite the white car. Right- D'ark Resort chalets, a very palatial kampung style resort. Rates ranges from RM149.50nett to RM287.50nett per night.
Parking spaces in front of D'ark where we parked out cars. :) We are also allowed to use the tables and chairs at their compound but we prefer the grass and river instead.

En helped in setting up the bonfire area. There are lots of rocks available by the river which we used as stools

Left- hubby&wife team slicing baguette, preparing garlic bread, with no garlic!  Right- Cracking coconut which was plucked from the coconut trees next to our tents, with a rock! The juice is so yummy-licious.

Left- En's rubbish bin. Right- the lucky cat, belong to D'ark enjoying a free massage from kids.

Left - Starting fire! Right- and our fresh shitake mushroom soup along with baquette, corns, sweet potatoes and potatoes. wow!

A D'ark staff offered to install light for us when the sun was setting. Two thumbs up for D'ark 's service with a smile:)  Right- wooden plank as table.

En turned the box over and laid it with our kitchen cloth as a table, slurping warm mushroom soup and munching corn by the river under the twinkling star with breezy weather (yeah, cool ! )

Right- little Hui woke with the birds, yawning.
It rained at 11pm till 130am. We have to zip up the tent. Hui cried as it was stuffy and hot. Thankfully, she slept soundly after that.
Our tent leaked at most corners and my pjs were wet. We have to use all the sleeping bags to line the floor. What an experience! Nevertheless, I enjoyed the cool fresh air, listening to the sound of river flowing and finally went to slumberland. Wonderful night, living out in the open air!

In the morning, thanks to aunty mey who set fire for us to cook our breakfast.
