Percussion Sound Shapes at Bukit Kiara, TTDI 12 July 2012

This is part of Teacher Rhonwyn 's percussion instruments.
And these are sound shapes.

It was an hour FUN percussion session for the kids.
I enjoyed watching them making up rhythms with sound shapes and body movement.

In this photo here, the group was moving freely anyway they felt like it.

I admire teacher Rhonwyn. She is only 18 and she can handle the whole group of adults and kids well. Her  charges is RM150 per session. When I was 18, I only earned a wee bit of what she earned.

The kids are looking forward to the next session.

Pluck Musical Arson @PJLA 26 July 2011

The trio played classical pieces with violin and cello in a funny way and audiences were in a fit of laughter. It is so unusual and refreshing compare to the boring sit-still and be-quiet manner.

To me, it's more hillarious seeing En Hui cackled and laughed out real loud!

Merzhin Live Concert 21 June 2011

We attended another French performance after Sauce for the Goose. After watching Merzhin from youtube, I finally met them in person. As it was a rock concert, there were no seats prepared in the room and audiences could freely dance along with the music. I enjoyed the concert tremendously. En started to dance a bit as well. :)

Brass Quintet at Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra 31 May 2011

trumpets, tuba, horn and trombone.
I brought both En and Hui to the MPO happy hour. It was our first time sitting inside a box, which gave wonderful view of the stage. On the flip side, it also stressed me out when the little kids moved as we were so near the stage and in the center of the attraction ! :)

Flight of the Bumblebee @MPO 28 May 2011

Hui sat on the floor and watched the orchestra the moment we stepped into the MPO ticketing counter. :)
It was our second MPO family fun day concerts. An hour of orchestra is the perfect duration for children.

It's amazing how the presenter engaged the audiences in the orchestra.
At the end of the concert, the composer Rob Kapilow, the ballet dancer, pianist, and singers stayed back for a question and answer session for the audience !

Jam Busters @MPO 25 May 2011

This superb percussion performance got me to stamp my feet (and moved mentally!!). Marvellous. Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra Happy Hour is only RM9 per seat. A cheap affordable way to introduce my kids to all sort of music genre.
MPO Happy Hour Brass Quintet is our next one.

Anne Musikschule 's concert 18 December 2010

Saturday afternoon.
From rehearsal..
to concert and followed by Winter Solstice dinner, En was pooped and knocked out the moment she went to bed. She only had two rehearsals with the children from the movement class. The competence of the children didn't bother her at all. En was seen happily dancing, following their steps with no worries.

Concert Rehearsal 13 December 2010

Monday evening.
En and her concert rehearsal  at Anne Musikschule. :)

Hui told her " I dont want you to dance on stage, sis" when she found out about the concert. She stood by the glass door, watched her sis, and repeatedly asked  "En, what are you doing? ". Sisters!!!

Mamma Mia ! 26 May 2010

Wednesday am.
We love Mamma Mia soundtrack. :) I took En to watch Mamma Mia play @ Istana Budaya. She loves the songs.
This morning, En turned on the disc. Hui got into the mood of dancing when the first track "Honey Honey"  was played. She loves dancing and swayed confidently with music. Last year, En began to follow suit when we listened to this soundtrack.
It is so happy seeing them moved freely to the music. While singing and dancing, En stacked the nescafe bottle and kaleidoscope as a microphone, singing into it and dance with pom pom. A while later, the whole box of musical instrument was carried out and we just danced with all sorts of instrument.. bought and homemade ones.
Hui refused to stop and it went on and on and on.. what fun and a body ache mom!
