White-faced saki monkey roamed freely at the Zoo.
The kids were so happy to have their friends with them today.
We have been here countless of times and yet, the kids still enjoy it so much.

Library @Singapore 17 April 2012
We spent every night reading till the library closed.
The kids excitedly ran up and down the aisle, fetching every book to read.
Browsing through the selection of the new arrival, I contemplated of moving here!
Titanic, the artifact exhibition, Art Science Museum, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore 18 April 2012
Marina Bay is so stunning. It so reminds me of Sydney Darling Harbour or Kowloon Harbour.
Lovely side walk along the palm trees.
We came to visit Titanic exhibition. I have to give two thumbs-up to this event.
We read about Titanic last year and this event was a fruitful one for the kids.
A replica of boarding pass of an actual passenger of Titanic was our ticket.
Filming and photography are prohibited.
Aquaponic Farming @home, Balakong 9 April 2012
We visited Augustine's home aquaponic farm at Balakong. He shared generously what he had learnt and is also able to help set up one at your home for a fee.
The grow bed where you plant your vegetable or even fruit tree!
According to Augustine, vegetables grown here are so sweet and yummy as to its counterpart, planted on a planter box(below).

Again, we are so thankful to get a wonderful guide. Haslini is so patient and accommodating to our needs, adult and children of all ages.
It started of with a short and sweet interactive briefing of "Kijang" (barking deer) on how he saves his cool bike.

Kids decorated the money boxes.
Being a mother, I always worry if my kid is able to do it.
Again, I was proof wrong. Hui drew, coloured, folded and glued the box by herself.
There are three money boxes that the children need to assemble - saving, spending and sharing.

Here we visited an art gallery which display a selection of local and Asean artwork. I must say the art pieces there are beautiful.

Qingming Festival 31 March 2012
Qingming festival is the day where we remember our ancestors and pay a visit at their grave yard.
The festival always begin by praying to Tai Pak Kung, deity who drives evil spirit away.
Paper made sacrificial offerings.

Walking towards great grandma's grave yard, and also great grandpa, great great grandma and grandpa and great aunt.
Clean the table for offering.
Pour water on the grave.
Food and joss sticks offerings.
Eno (Environment Online) March of Frogs 2012 26 March 2012
We participated in "March of Frogs", ENO climate change campaign. In this activity, we made paper mache frogs and collect pledges from people to create awareness in how to reduce the effect of climate change.
En made posters to hang over her shoulder as well.

It was my very first time approaching strangers this way.
Hui commented she only wish to be there to support the group.
En was all geared in helping the environment, a subject she is always fond of.
Writing down the chosen pledge on a cap and then to be fed to Frank, the frog.
She collected a total of 23 pledges.
The total number of pledges will be submitted through online form at ENO.
A LIST OF PLEDGES to choose from. Lets make a pledge!!
1. I decrease the temperature at home by 1 celcius and turn off the lights whenever I don't need them.
2. I don't leave my TV, computer or stereo in a stand-by mode but switch them off when I don't use them.
3. I change our light bulbs into energy saving bulbs.
4. I change our electricity into one that uses renewable resources.
5. I don't waste in vain . I prefer to fix and repair rather than buy new.
6. I sort my waste and recycle whenever possible.
7. I use products that have as little packaging as possible.
8. I use public transport and walk or bicycle instead of driving a car.
9. I eat local food and less meat.
10. When I buy food I use a bag or an old plastic bag.
11. I favour environmentally labelled products.
12. I plant a tree and ask my friend to do the same.
13. I make my own pledge that is?

The kids were squatting down and staring into the lion head structure for some time. Curious, I peeped in and saw what they admired, the bamboo structure frame under the lion used for lion dance performance.
Painstaking hard work in making the frame of the lion head.
We saw how from scratch this frame was made.
The frame holds this furry red part of the lion.
