Science in a Glass 23 January 2011

The submarine sinks naturally because it is heavier than the water. We were supposed to fill baking soda in the chamber and made it float. This happens because water comes into contact with the baking soda, carbon dioxide is released and the release of the gas causes submarine to surface. Our submarines decided to stay at the bottom and never want to move up. We are still wondering why it didn't want to surface!
